COLLISION
I was awakened from of blissful ignorance as I learned to drive. Suddenly I was forced to see and react to every stimulus. I became overwhelmed by what surrounded me, the metal shell of the car felt thin – it could no longer protect me. The fear embedded itself in my consciousness and caused visions of violence to haunt me. A cathartic performance is executed through the process of control and surrender. The pieces are an attempt to regain control and sever my intimacy with the fear. Collision negotiates the opposing forces and the promise of survival on trauma.
