Family Workshop 2: Textured Patterns
Date: Friday November 10, 4-6pm
The NYUAD Art Gallery invites young people and their families to experiment with patterns, texture, and paint to create abstract minimalist and expressionist artworks. Inspired by Yayoi Kusama and Tadaaki Kuwayama’s artworks, participants will explore techniques of layering paint and paper to produce patterns and experiment with texture.
Age: 6-16 years old, alone or with their adult family or friends. (Participants under 8 years old should be accompanied by an adult).
The Art Gallery will provide: all materials, plus pizza and refreshments.
This workshop is facilitated by Rania Jishi, a multi-disciplinary artist based in Dubai, UAE. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the American University in Dubai. She has taught workshops at Sharjah Art Foundation, Abu Dhabi TCA, Art Dubai, and 1971 Design Space in Sharjah. She is a graduate of the Salama bin Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship, class of 2016.
