Family Workshop: The Flying House
in connection with exhibition But We Cannot See Them
The NYUAD Art Gallery invites young people and their families to create their own version of the Flying House. The Flying House was a space where a community of artists shared their ideas and created and displayed artwork. In this workshop, participants will produce their own “Flying House”, an object that will house their creative ideas and inspirations and serve as an imagination vault for years to come.
This workshop is facilitated by Wafa Ibrahim, a children’s book illustrator and an art educator from Sharjah, UAE. Wafa works extensively with youth and has facilitated workshops for Sharjah Children’s Biennial, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah Center, Funn (Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children), and Sharjah Art Foundation. She holds a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts and Design, Sharjah University.
This workshop is in connection with But We Cannot See Them: Tracing a UAE Art Community, 1988-2008, on view at the NYUAD Art Gallery from March 2 to May 27.
