Artist Talk: Ammar Al Attar
Please join Dale Hudson and Alia Yunis in a discussion with Emirati artist Ammar Al Attar about his photographs of cinemas in the UAE, and his collection of objects from cinemas that have closed. Al Attar will weave together his own personal stories, such as his father’s weekly practice of seeing whatever films on offer at the local cinema, with stories attached to objects representing both formal and informal distribution and promotion of films from Egypt, South Asia, and Hollywood for exhibition in the UAE.
