Opening Reception, Kim Robertson: Constructions of Reality
The NYUAD Art Gallery invites you to the Opening Reception for Kim Robertson: Constructions of Reality on Monday September 3rd from 6-8pm in the Project Space.
Constructions of Reality, investigates the notion of fantasy within our reality. Robertson’s work revolves around the photograph and panoramic images taken with a mobile phone, creating images that offer movement and blurring, a poor, low quality image where clarity blurs into abstraction. By inverting the images, Robertson challenges the audience’s perception of reality, inviting them to contemplate the filter by which they view the world, thereby hinting at an alternate interpretation.
The artist will be present at the opening reception.

The individual and communal experiences of the participants as they actively participate in the installation are as much a part of the created artwork as the resultant sculptures. The visitor becomes part of the artifact.
