Please join us for the opening of our Spring exhibition on Tuesday February 26th, 2019, when the NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery, will present the work of acclaimed Swiss artist Zimoun.
“I explore simple systems which involve various complexities in sound and motion. Through primitive mechanical systems, I look to activate unspectacular and raw materials which then start to develop a complex behaviour. The sounds my installations produce are generated immediately through the activation of the materials themselves. In fact, I like to refer to my work as ‘Primitive Complexities.’” — Zimoun
Curated by Maya Allison, Chief Curator at NYU Abu Dhabi, this landmark survey will mark the first time the artist has exhibited his work in the Gulf, and will include a major new commission: an expansive, room-sized installation that will be unveiled on the opening night.
Open to the public
A performance on opening night will be announced closer to the date.
